The Autospense vending machine by a Californian company Dispense Labs LLC is designed to allow easy access to medical marijuana for those who need it, while keeping it safely out of reach of those who merely want it.
To enter the cage around the machine, you need to swipe your membership card, enter your PIN number and have your fingerprints scanned.
The selling of medical marijuana has been legal in California since 1996, bur the use of medical marijuana remains banned under the provisions of federal laws.
Currently there is one Autospense vending machine operating at The Dispensary Store in Santa Ana, Orange County.
