15 year old Feliks Zemdegs solved Rubik's Cube in 6.77 seconds. A new world record.


The former record for solving a Rubik's cube was 7.08 seconds, held by Dutchman Erik Akkersdijk.

Feliks took up the hobby after watching a tutorial on YouTube. Since solving the cube in under 8 seconds at several competitions, he has been trying to beat the world speed record for a single puzzle solve.

The World Cube Association regulates the competitions and sets the rules.

Aside from being the fastest solver, prizes are awarded for blindfold solving, one-hand solving, solving with feet, and even solving multiple cubes blindfolded.
